November 11th, 2007 Star Tights

These are some awesome tights!! I got them in-store at Forever 21 and they ended up being even nicer than expected!!

I wore them to the bar with a cute red plaid skirt (only a dollar at DEB!) and a lace-trimmed tank from Forever 21. I also still had to wear my walking boot out so I put some cute shoelaces on it to match the ones in my Converse, they were red stars and skulls, but I didn’t get any pics of that.

Here’s a close-up of the stars! Aren’t they just adorable?? They’re a little bit see-thru and the tights themselves are softer and sturdier than I expected. You have no idea how worried I was that I’d snag them with the velcro on my walking boot and ruin them the first time out. Wouldn’t be the first time something like that has happened to some cute tights, but luckily it was not the case and I have them to wear again someday!!

Not sure if you can still pick these up, saw some tights on the web site but these might be out of stock right now. U could always try in-store to see if they have them there still cuz I noticed the web site sometimes gets rid of stuff and then it pops up in stores for the first time.

November 2nd, 2007 Grey and Green

Ok so we all I know I like to match, well this time I did an AWESOME job. Was at the mall with my sister the last time she was in town and I picked up this cute green and grey plaid skirt from Charlotte Russe. I knew I had a grey shirt to match at home but wanted to keep looking for something else while I was at the mall. Ended up finding the perfect color earrings and top at Wet Seal so I picked them up too. Then when I got home I realized I had the tights too and had just never worn them before, so I threw that all together and added some grey legwarmers to tone it down a bit cuz the tights are so bold and since I have to wear that Walking boot still when I leave the house.

So I wore this all to the bar with Tess last night and we had a blast. Got REALLY drunk and was running around having lots of fun the whole night. It was great!

Oh yeah, the tights are Hue from Kaufmann’s and I think I got them on sale really cheap at the time. And the legwarmers were in a set with some OTK socks from Walmart a few years back and are one of my fav pairs.

November 19th, 2006 Brown Argyle Tights

Ok so I didn’t get any pictures of the two of us together, but after the game yesterday me and Steph decided to dress alike again and head out to the bar.

I was wearing my new brown argyle tights from Target with a short brown cord skirt and skull beater with brown beads. Steph wore the Purples and Black argyle tights and matching cord skirt with black beater and black beads.

We ended up going to Crossings but didn’t have anyone to hang out with so we only had one drink and then tried Roma’s which was even worse so we just went home. This is why we didn’t end up getting any pictures together in our outfits. I’ll definitely try to get some of her in her outfit or us together the next time she comes over when she brings it back.

But in the meantime, I’m excited to also show off my adorable American Eagle heels that I never got to wear out till last night! Aren’t they just too cute! I fell in love with them instantly but didn’t have an outfit to match till now!!

October 26th, 2006 Sexy Nurse with Opaque and Fishnet

The black vinyl nurse costume made a comeback this year for Halloween, but I couldn’t just wear it again, I had to switch it up a little. So this time I wore solid red opaque tights with my footless fishnets and also picked up a crop with a nurse symbol on it from Hot Topic. I wore the costume to Shocktoberfest with my friend Stephanie, and we made her a costume that was similar too!

Her costume features my black vinyl corset (also by Leg Avenue) worn over a long skirt she had for a while. She also picked up a little Devil accessory kit at Party City that was red and shiny and went well with the vinyl. It included the ears, pitchfork and tail. We looked super hot together as you can see!!

The costume is REALLY short, but I had extra protection with the two layers of tights and a pair of vinyl boy short undies underneath. The tights are really bright but the fishnet over top helped to tone it down a bit. Plus since they were footless I didn’t have that weird feeling on my feet from the netting after standing for a while. We didn’t stick around for any costume contests even though we probably would have done pretty well if we had, but we headed back towards home and hung out at our local bar as the ONLY two people in costume and it went well. Usually I’m pretty nervous when I stand out like that, but I think having Stephanie dressed up with me helped a lot. And our costumes were a big hit with nothing but compliments and admiring stares so that helped as well!

October 21st, 2006 Sexy Policewoman with Showgirl Fishnets

I dressed up in two different costumes this year for Halloween. The Sexy Police Woman was a HUGE hit and won me a total of $105 dollars in two different costume contests, more than paying for itself`and helping out a lot with not having a new job yet.

It’s a jumper and my “cheeks” stick out a little in the back but the fishnet tights that I have are solid black at the top and just looked weird peeking out from under the costume, so I ended up picking up the ShowGirl Fishnet Pantyhose from Sock Dreams to wear with it instead.

These are some high quality fishnets. They have padded feet for a little extra comfort in heels and the fishnet itself had more of a plasticy feel to it. Wasn’t uncomfortable at all, just really sturdy. And the first time I wore them, by the time I was in bed at the end of the night I could STILL feel the fishnet on my legs because my boots were so tight squeezing them against my skin all night. It almost hurt. But by the next time I wore them it was completely fine and I even had them on a lot longer. That’s probably the key, they probably just stretch out more the longer you have them on and therefore are more comfortable.

The costume was a great deal. It was $59.99 with free shipping at LaLa Lingerie and included the jumper, hat, hand cuffs, baton, and belt. The handcuffs were plastic and broke right away but I was able to get a pair of metal ones from my friend Marshal. Also I wanted a gun so I ended up picking up this little orange one at the Halloween store at the mall that came in a little holster attached to a garter belt you wear on your leg. Unfortunately it broke the first time I wore it after walking around for a while (damn you thunder thighs!) and I didn’t end up sewing it back together in time for the next party so I just went without the gun the second time around.

I got TONS of compliments at both parties, more especially at the second one. When it came to voting for the costume contest everyone around the little “stage” we had to stand on was saying it was me hands down. Even other girls were complimenting me all night, and another girl in a cop outfit said she had to spend a bunch of money on her accessories because her costume didn’t come with everything like mine did. So I really lucked out this year. And to think it wasn’t even one of the costumes I was considering after browsing a bunch of sites and I just happened to try it on at the Halloween store and fell in love with it. Funny how things work out sometimes.

January 21st, 2006 Orange Tights & Legwarmers

I went to the mall with my mom today cuz she needed to get some secret santa gifts for her bowling Christmas party tonight (I know it’s the middle of January, they’re weird) After the mall where I didn’t have much luck (other than finally getting a refill on my Gap Heaven scent) we went to Target!! Oh how I love Target!! They had a bunch of stuff on clearance so I ended up getting quite a few things. I got 4 pairs of tights (3 solid Xhilaration Brand and one pair was a re-buy of the diamond argyles that got all run-up at the Halloween party at work and I had to toss), a pair of cute little brown Boo Boo (Yogi’s friend, the cartoon bear) argyle shorties, 2 pairs of rugby stripes, and a 2 pack of beige with sparkly fishnets knee highs.

Orange Tights and Legwarmers

Unfortunately I usually forget that tights aren’t One Size Fits All so when I got them home and went to try them on none of the tights fit except the re-buy. I was disappointed to say the least, especially since one pair was a large and really should have fit. So I decided since I can’t really return opened and tried on hosiery that I’d attempt to make them into footless tights instead. So I cut the toes off the oranges one first (cuz that’s the color I’d wear the least) and they seem to be just fine.

Orange FOOTLESS tights

They’re still pretty snug, but it’s actually not uncomfortable. And they go down to a few inches above my ankle comfortably. I wore them with legwarmers though since I don’t ever want to go running around looking like I’m wearing leggings like my elementary school days, I’m far too thick to think that looks good now. I always wear my tights with legwarmers anyways. I’m holding off on butchering the other two pairs that didn’t fit till after I wash these and see how the bottoms hold up. I don’t want to go ruining them when I could just find someone to give them to if this little experiment doesn’t work out. Wish me luck… cuz I really need a larger assortment of tights colors.

January 19th, 2006 Footless Fishnet Tights & Legwarmers

Today’s my friend Brandi’s 24th Birthday so we tried to go in to work early and decorate to surprise her but she ended up getting there before we were finished cuz she comes in so damn early! She was still happy about it and we made her a cake and lunch to share. Ended up hanging out there for a while and then heading home when my dad was ready to go. I plan on heading back before her shift is over so we can go out for the night.

the outfit

We had planned on going to a club downtown originally but those plans fell through and she didn’t have a cute outfit to wear out. I tried to pick out something of mine that I knew she liked so she could borrow it but didn’t know what types of socks she would actually wear so I called her up and she said not to bother because we were just gonna go to a local bar and didn’t need to be all dressed up. So then I decided against wearing my cute little outfit since I’d be the only one and it’s supposed to be all about her for her birthday anyways.

footless fishnet and legwarmers

The outfit was really cute though so why not share! The skirt is from Forever21 and I’ve been desperately trying to wear it since I got it but always end up changing out of it before I left the house. Partly because it’s so short and it’s so cold outside, and then of course since I would only be going somewhere local that doesn’t require being that dressed up and I’d only be drawing too much attention to myself which some of my friends aren’t as comfortable with as others. The top is one of my favorites, it’s grey (which somehow goes with the brownish color of the skirt) and has an adorable silver sparkly skull on the front. I probably wear it more often than most of my other shirts cuz it’s so damn cute. On the legs I added some warmth by wearing my Footless Fishnet Pantyhose and brown legwarmers (from Target). All of this with open toed shoes by Splash that I absolutely looooove to death, I wish I could find another pair or two like them so they’d never wear out and I’d never have to stop wearing them. They’re one of the few pairs of heels I can wear and actually be comfortable in. And it would have been the first time for me wearing the tights as well as the safety pin belt buckle had I actually worn it out. Maybe the next time I get to go to a club?? We’ll see….
