May 6th, 2010 Black and Gold Argyles!

These socks are Xhilaration Brand from Target and I was pleasantly surprised that they were a true OTK! I think I just assumed they were knee highs when I bought them but they go MUCH further up on my legs and stay up nice and comfortably. Got LOTS of compliments at work today too! And the colors matched my Mustard Forever 21 Top and Long Black Skirt perfectly!

Enjoy a couple shots of these great socks!

February 28th, 2009 OTK Tube Socks

So I was having a little dance party at the apartment when my plans fell thru for the night and decided to take a few shots…

Finally wearing my OTK Turquoise tubes from Hot Topic. They’re super comfy and reaaaally long! And they stay up quite well too! Wore them with my new boots from Ross Dress For Less and of course, lots more turquoise! Here’s a close up of the socks and boots:

Highly recommended and they come in more bright colors like yellow, green, orange, and pink. I believe I have the yellows too.

December 19th, 2007 35 inch Skater Socks are love <3!!

This is a pair of Skater Socks that I’m actually really excited about! They’re 35 inches in Black and Bubblegum Pink!! (item 35-1 from this page if you’re interested.) They’re my first TRULY over the knee skater socks! When I first got them I was surprised at how much longer they seemed just holding them up with all the rest of the new pairs, but I hadn’t actually WORN them till last week (under some pants unfortunately) and then again yesterday to take pictures. They’re AWESOME!! And they definitely need to come out with a bunch more combos cuz I’m sure they’re gonna be a huge hit!

I’m actually wearing them in this picture with a pair of heels that I still can’t wear normal since the accident but they do look really cute together tho. And you can see how the entire striped section lands completely over the top of my knee caps in my mid-thigh area. In fact, with the skirt I wore for the pictures, they were actually long enough to be covered up and almost look like tights when I’m standing, but I didn’t get any standing pictures in the outfit.

The rest of the outfit was purchased ages ago and included my black pleated skirt from Forever 21 (with built in shorts) and a shirt from Delia’s that I used to always “borrow” from my sister till she finally gave it to me the last time she was home. The colors went together quite well tho, much better than what I wore them with all hidden up last week.

December 19th, 2007 Yellow and Gold Super Stripes!!

I recently got my first ever Sock Dreams E-Gift Card for $50 and ordered a ton of stuff with it. (Thanks again Ray!) I ended up wearing 3 of the new things the first weekend but was at a friends house at the time so I didn’t get any pics but I finally wore the Super Stripes yesterday and here they are:

When I tried them on originally they were HUGE, even my dad was like “What do those go up to your neck?” and they were really loose. So I ended up washing them before actually wearing them (which I rarely ever do). I think I even washed them in Warm Water Cool Rinse instead of Cold and Cold like I normally wash everything. And I threw them in the dryer on Low as I dry everything else. They did shrink up a bit, but that was totally the idea.

I didn’t exactly know what to wear them with at the time so I just stuck with the socks and a Mustard colored sweater top that matched pretty perfectly with the gold in the stripes.

But I ended up throwing on a long black peasanty skirt and wearing it out like that when I helped move a fish tank for my friend and then hung out with the boy for a few hours. They stayed up pretty well around the house when I had them pulled ALL THE WAY up, but felt a little tight there so I let them fall around my knees and cuffed them a little which is how I wore them the rest of the night.

November 1st, 2007 Happy Halloween!!

So I got to wear my costume twice this year for Halloween. It’s called “Skull Fairy” and I got it online after falling in love with it when I saw it at Spenser’s at the mall. The first time I wore it was Friday night at Talerico’s Halloween Party. Turned out the “thigh highs” were more like knee highs on me and they didn’t look right like that so I cut the toe seams and wore other socks with them so no one would notice.

Then the second time I wore them was yesterday for Trick or Treating with Tess, Skye-Marie and David and then to the Kendrews Halloween Party with Stephanie, Kenny, and Josh. This time I wore the socks as arm warmers cuz it’s cold out and wore my thigh high skull socks over the showgirl fishnets instead.

I just found out that those little skulls on the thigh highs from Sock Dreams actually glow in the dark which is pretty cool. I don’t remember if I knew that before, only that I was surprised to find out now. Also I still really love those Showgirl Fishnet tights. By far the best quality fishnets I own. The padding in the feet helps a lot and I’ve worn them a bunch of times now and they are still in awesome shape with none of the little holes tearing into bigger ones or anything. Gotta love that! Definitely getting your money’s worth when you don’t have to throw them out after one or two wearings and they actually LAST! And I finally got a picture of the “ham” effect they leave on your legs if you wear another layer over them (weather it’s socks, thigh highs or tight boots etc).

And yeah…. that incision is still looking pretty ugly. :(

April 25th, 2007 Bats and Bows Fishnets

These “Batty Net Stockings” were another item I received in the “box of socks” from Miss Rebeckah but haven’t actually worn out of the house yet. I just tried them on with the sexy garter dress for pictures. I actually had to look them up on the web page cuz I didn’t remember ever seeing them. The bats are adorable and the satin bows are cute as well!!

These are the nicer stronger fishnets, like the Showgirl Pantyhose ones, that feel more almost plasticy than nylon. When I wore those hose with boots it got too tight on my legs after wearing them for hours and left me looking like a ham afterwards. But the next time I wore them they were better so I guess they just take one wearing to stretch to your size. Plus I think the boots had something to do with that anyways, I’d imagine they’re just fine without that extra layer pulling them closer to your legs. I didn’t wear THESE with boots but I’d assume it’s the same type of thing.

You can better see the cute little bats and bows in that shot! Also the toe seam is such that my toes didn’t slip out of the holes while I was wearing them so that’s always a plus. And they stayed up just fine without being too tight or needing garters.

April 13th, 2007 Royal Blue N40’s

So I got these as a wish list purchase a while ago but haven’t actually worn them out of the house yet, although I almost did twice, damn weather! They’re beautiful Royal Blue N40’s!!

The shirt I wanted to wear them with is also Royal blue and is a recent purchase from Forever 21. They’re not quite the exact same color but it’s close and they don’t look bad together. It was just cold and rainy and I was going out so I didn’t feel like wearing the outfit.

Un-cuffed they go ALL THE WAY up my legs and would likely stay there no problem! I love how the tops of these feel especially, I wish the whole thing felt as soft. I bet if they come out with Ribbed N’s and made them just like the tops of these they’d be a HUGE seller because they’d fit an awesome range more comfortably I bet. Not too big on how they look on the inside of the tops, but I just make sure the outside is showing when I cuff them down just over my knees and it’s totally not a problem. They’re nylon (thus the N in N40’s) so they’re tighter throughout the legs than I remember the M40’s being, but they stretch a lot better too. And the colors, from what I can tell by having just one pair and pictures I’ve seen of others, are so bold and bright I’m loving it! Definitely plan on picking up some more pairs someday!
