December 19th, 2007 Special Surprises are always awesome too!

ALSO, as quite the surprise with my gift card order from Sock Dreams, they threw in the lovely button up leg warmers that I had wanted so badly but were (for the second time) Out of Stock when I went to order them. The thing that surprised me the most (other than the fact that they’re finally mine!!) was that they were actually a lot darker than I had expected. From the pictures they had appeared a much lighter blue, like a light jeans kind of color, but in actuality they’re more of a medium blue jeans kind of color. Not that I’m disappointed at all, especially since I have a shirt in nearly an identical blue to wear them with!! So when I actually wore these I wore them with the shirt and under some jeans because it was cold. But for pictures I wore them over light blue tights (which are more like the color I expected the leg warmers to be) and with a brown skirt (which I was excited about cuz I can barely find anything to wear that looks right with that skirt) and the shirt. So without further ado, here they are!!

The shirt is from Wet Seal and says “Of Course I’m in Love With You Darling” in brown with certain letters in white so that if you read only the white it says “I’m lying”. The skirt is from Forever 21 with built in undies, I got them both a while back tho so they’re probably not still in stores right now. And here’s a close up of the tights and leg warmers worn with my clear heels.

The buttons are hard marble-like plastic and actually do button and un-button, they’re not just cute but functional. Although I don’t really know when you’d need them to be unbuttoned, but I guess it could come in handy if you wanted to put them on without taking your shoes off or something along those lines. They stayed up pretty well too, despite how it may look, I actually pull leg warmers down over my heels for pictures.

November 2nd, 2007 Grey and Green

Ok so we all I know I like to match, well this time I did an AWESOME job. Was at the mall with my sister the last time she was in town and I picked up this cute green and grey plaid skirt from Charlotte Russe. I knew I had a grey shirt to match at home but wanted to keep looking for something else while I was at the mall. Ended up finding the perfect color earrings and top at Wet Seal so I picked them up too. Then when I got home I realized I had the tights too and had just never worn them before, so I threw that all together and added some grey legwarmers to tone it down a bit cuz the tights are so bold and since I have to wear that Walking boot still when I leave the house.

So I wore this all to the bar with Tess last night and we had a blast. Got REALLY drunk and was running around having lots of fun the whole night. It was great!

Oh yeah, the tights are Hue from Kaufmann’s and I think I got them on sale really cheap at the time. And the legwarmers were in a set with some OTK socks from Walmart a few years back and are one of my fav pairs.

November 11th, 2006 Yellow/Black Inklineds and Legwarmers

So I was getting ready to go out the other night and I had some trouble picking between two combos of socks to wear with my outfit. The outfit was my long white skirt with my striped skull shirt and a matching scarf headband. I couldn’t decide if it looked better with the yellow & black Inklineds and leg warmers or just the leg warmers alone. Either way I was wearing them with my open-toed white heels.

I really liked the Inklined’s but heard they’re going to be weaned out at Sock Dreams so that was just the push I needed to pick up the Yellow and Black’s that I had my eye on for a while. Unfortunately I didn’t have an outfit in mind to wear them with so I still haven’t worn them out of the house. That’s why I was trying to put together this outfit for them.

I thought they looked really good either way, but my sister said she liked without the socks better. But it still remains a mystery since I never did end up going out that night.

So what do you think? Does the combo look best with or without the Inklined Socks underneath the leg warmers???

September 29th, 2006 Fall equals otk and legwarmer season

So it’s that time of year already, the cold winds are blowing and layering is soon to become a must if you ever want to leave the house.

It’s working out kinda nice for me lately since I don’t fit in a lot of my jeans anymore and long peasanty/hippie skirts are great for the fall. This is one of the various long skirt, socks, leg warmers, and scarves outfits I’ve worn recently, unfortunately it’s the only one I actually got pictures of. Never fear though, there will be plenty more opportunities soon enough.

I’m wearing my little hat which you can’t see too much of in the picture. Also my “Kiss Me, I Don’t Smoke” frog shirt with checkered skinny scarf from Pac Sun and long black skirt. The socks are KBell over the knee stripes in black and grey worn under Basic Black No Foot Boot Socks both from Sock Dreams

I love both items to pieces, seriously, everytime I’m asked what my favorite socks are the K Bell OTK Stripes always get mentioned, usually the black and gold pair but they’re both the same. And these leg warmers are my absolute favorites as well.

I’ve gotten a little thicker lately so the socks pinched a little over my knees after a while but I’m sure they’ll stretch, they’re very stretchy, that’s what they do. They’re very comfy regardless.

And the leg warmers and thick and warm. I like them all scrunchy but they’re just as nice pulled up or folded. I even like to wear them under jeans sometimes. They DEFINITELY need to make more colors of these, I wish I could come up with a list of the ones I’d want, I’d definitely snap up some more cuz I just love them that much.

I even got a compliment from Stephanie’s cousin that he liked my stockings. I guess I kinda brought attention to them without meaning to when I kept pulling at the tops cuz they were digging in when I was trying to sit and watch Grey’s Anatomy with everyone on his bed. May just have been a nervous twitch type of thing cuz I’m shy and just couldn’t get comfortable though.

March 26th, 2006 The Bomb!

These SourPuss Armwarmers and Matching Socks are the bomb and a half!! You know how much I like to match and black and white goes with just about anything.

Bombs!

When I saw the Armwarmers I just HAD to have them, unfortunately I already made an order earlier in the day so I felt like an ass making another one with just one thing on it. Luckily I was able to contact them and they caught it before sending out two seperate packages so all was well.

Bombs!

The rest of the outfit is a striped shirt from Gadzooks and pink boyshort undies from Forever 21 (they’re actually both the same company now). I didn’t wear this out of the house or anything, just wanted to take some cute pics. When I did wear the socks and arm warmers out they were with a double pink striped shirt and black pants but that was weeks ago when I first got them and didn’t have a chance to take any pics. (I’m really behind as far as all the new stuff I’ve gotten lately)

The socks are labeled as Thigh Highs by Sourpuss but Sock Dreams and I both agree that they’re much more like OTK’s if that. They pretty much cover my big fat knee caps but would much rather reside just below them. The armwarmers are really comfy too. I wear them all the way to my elbows and scrunch them down and back up again through out the day. The whole thing is super cute and I’m glad I ended up with the whole set. You’ll want them too, I never knew little pink bombs could BE so irresistable!!

March 15th, 2006 Pink Legwarmers

My pink outfit

These Pink Chenile Legwarmers are wonderful!! They’ve been getting rave reviews from the sock girls and commenters in the Sock Journal and I just had to try them out. Plus I didn’t already have a pair of pink legwarmers and pink is a semi-common color in my wardrobe.

Close up Legwarmers and Toes

I really like them a lot, I’ve even slept in them! They’re super warm and stay up quite nicely and look just as cute scrunched down. They can also be worn as arm warmers if you prefer. The softness is really the best part, they just feel so nice against your skin!!

February 25th, 2006 Grey & Black Stripes

Get ready for a stripes overload!!

Grey and Black Stripes

I just got the skirt at Good Will the day I got the legwarmers and I got the shirt at Gadzooks when I went to the mall with my sister the other day. I ordered the socks to go with the skirt but the grey actually matched the shirt much better. I think the outfit’s cute but it’s too much so I didn’t actually wear it out like that, I took off the legwarmers and skirt and put on jeans instead. But for the pictures I thought it was great!

Grey and Black Stripes

The socks are my favorites, the Over the Knee Stripes, in grey and black, my second pair of the style. I wore them with the No Foot Boot legwarmers in black. The socks are really comfy and I love them, they only get a little uncomfortable when you wear them over the knee for too long. See they reach there, but the elastic quickly becomes a bit too tight for my tastes. They stay up comfortably right below the knee where I wore them though. I really like the legwarmers too, I needed a more knitty black legwarmer and ordered these not too long ago. It was so strange because it was the only thing I ordered at the time and I so wasn’t used to such a small package from Sock Dreams! I love how they look scrunched up layered over anything really, even my spider web thigh highs like I wore to work one day, or just over skin under jeans. They’re definately getting a lot of use lately, even if it’s just around the house with my slippers for some extra warmth.

I made a big inventory spreedsheet and it looks like I’m up to 210 pairs of socks, legwarmers, armwarmers, tights, and other hosiery!!! And I believe 96 of them are from Sock Dreams alone. It’s becoming quite the collection! I’m planning on having a list of everything I own with links to the entries with pictures of them so I can keep track of what has or hasn’t been pictured and posted about and hopefully one day everything will be covered. That’s the plan anyways. :)
