I got in my kitten maryjanes that I won in an Ebay auction yesterday so I was really excited to wear them right away.

My pink and black vertical striped thigh highs matched the colors perfectly so I wore them with a pink top and black skirt to work. Everyone complimented me mostly on the shoes but they thought the whole thing was cute/sexy. The shoes were size 8 and a little snug in the front so I wish I could have worn something more cushiony as far as socks go. I think I’ll order an 8 1/2 when I get the white with black kittens pretty soon.

As you probably know, I love my plaid skirts, almost if not more than I love my socks. My favorite one is the turquoise pleated mini from Lip Service and I’ve purchased several different socks to go with them. This particular outfit I wore yesterday and I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner considering I got the diamonds months ago and never wore them till now.

The outfit consists of lots of layers. There’s a black beater tank, a turquoise Boat Neck top, a turquoise plaid mini kilt, black lace up thigh highs, and turquoise diamond thigh highs.

“The socks are mesmerizing” my boyfriend mentioned while I was at his house last night. And his friend commented on how I always have something cool that matches on. While walking to and from school in downtown Pittsburgh I had several people compliment me on my stockings as well. And of course a stop at the bar had the fans raving as usual.

The black thigh highs were a Christmas present from my boyfriend’s sister and they’re by Morbid Threads from Hot Topic. They have lace tops that tie up in the back. Length-wise they go all the way up my legs. This is the first time I’ve worn them out as well although you couldn’t see the lace tops.

I’ve never had a complaint about the various fishnet/fencenet/diamond net styles I own. This particular pair has the extra netting at the toes so they don’t fall through. I don’t personally prefer that since I usually just put my toes through my fencenets automatically but with the diamond design I think it was needed. Another fun thing about these socks is when you get a little bored you can actually play with them. Last night I found myself “picking” at them like guitar strings when we were relaxing and listening to music. The turquoise is quite bright and the pattern is so interesting it’s hard to keep your eyes off of them. That’s what my boyfriend was commenting about when we were talking and he kept finding himself staring at the socks!

I love the combo and so did everyone else. What do you all think?

Lime O Pastels over Skull print thigh highs with spiked sock garters, a killer combination.

First things first, the skulls don’t go ANYWHERE near thigh high. Where they’re sitting is as far as they’ll stretch to on me. I think the pics came out pretty nice though considering I have a wicked cold at the moment.

The layer effect was great. I lucked out as far as color matches go. And the extra cushion on my feet was wonderful. Usually no matter what dress shoes I wear to work by the end of the night my feet are killing me and I can’t wait to get out of them, but that didn’t happen at all tonight with the lime over skulls combo so that’s a definite plus!!!

I had the lime socks scrunched the whole night so I can’t say anything about their stay-up power, that will have to be some other time. The skulls stayed up well though. I had the spiked sock garters on for looks only cuz I think they’re hot and went well with the rest of the outfit. I worked from 7-12:40 so I’d say I had them on for 6 1/2 hours today and the sock garters couldn’t make it the whole time. I think I ended up taking them off about 11:30 or so because they were feeling too tight. Strangely enough they were actually a little loose when I put them on and I caught one sliding down my leg a couple times till I folded the very top of the skulls band over the top of them and then they stayed put. After taking off the garters the skulls slipped down a little. I think that was only because they took some stretching to get over my knees to begin with. I’d be willing to bet they’d stay up quite nice with or without garters on people a little shorter than 5 ft 5 and maybe a little thinner in the knee to thigh area than I am. I just ended up rolling them to right below my knee caps and they stayed there just fine and comfortably so. I was very surprised in how little the skulls stretch. I don’t know if I just got a small pair or if that’s just Leg Avenue’s idea of a thigh high, either way I still like them very much and the outfit was a hit at the bar!

These Black & White Striped Legwarmers are from Fashion Bug. I got them back when I worked there and would love to find more like them. All the other legwarmers that they had at the time and that I’ve seen there since have all been the flat cotton ones that resemble light socks without the feet, these are more like something you’d get if someone knitted you a pair and I love that about them.

I wore these with my white terry cloth shorts set for a cam challenge with a friend at an old board and ended up winning! They go up over the knee caps and stay whereever you want to put them, weather it’s scrunched or pulled up. And the contrast between black and white always seems to make a bold statement in an outfit.

These white topless fishnets are one of those garter necessary items. They’re a normal small holed fishnet and the tops remind me of those you’d get if you cut them yourself from some tights that didn’t fit or something like that.

I wore them with my white terry cloth shorts set and the white lace garter belt and thong set from Sock Dreams. The garters hold up very well although they were a little looser at the waist than I would have liked so probably wouldn’t hold up something heavier that would be pulling away more than a light style like these.

The lace is pretty sheer but still doesn’t show all there is to show because of the design of it all. But as always, most people won’t be seeing your thong and garter belt unless you want them to and those people won’t mind the sheerness The only parts the general public might see are the the clasps attached to the stockings depending on how short the skirt or whatever you’re wearing it with is and most will agree it’s very sexy.

Apparantly people come to my bar on days I work just to see what cool socks I’ll be wearing that day. And I hadn’t noticed, but someone said that I usually wear them on Mondays. So from now on I’m going to try to wear some sock outfit to work every Monday, even if I didn’t wear it to school in the morning since it’s usually too cold for that when I leave so early.

So this is what I wore to work last night:

The outfit is one of my boyfriend’s black beaters, my pink plaid schoolgirl skirt, striped fishnet pantyhose, and black and pink Saucony Jazz sneakers with fat pink star laces.

Now the sock review.
Since they’re fishnet, they feel a little strange to wear, especially with shoes. It’s not a bad thing, just something that takes a little getting used to. I’ve heard of people wearing small anklets or half socks under this type of thing so that they’re more comfortable in shoes. Maybe I’ll try that sometime. But I really didn’t have a problem with it, it’s just a different sensation.

They look absolutely amazing. Something about fishnet in general just hugs the curves of your legs and makes them look really sexy. And I like the added stripe effect because it’s something unique and interesting and gives me a reason to have several different pairs of black fishnets!

As far as sizing goes. I found that I had to pull them up real high and then fold them over the top of my skirt to keep the crotch section against my body instead of leaving an uncomfortable gap somewhere between my upper thighs. This probably means they’d fit better on someone shorter than 5 5 1/2 but the folding over was an easy fix to the problem. Another thing is that they catch on things easily. They got caught on the zipper of my purse when I was getting out of my car and I had to take some time to get them un-caught without tearing them. They also caught on my belly button ring when I was going to the bathroom and that kinda hurt a little bit. I have that same problem when I wear dangly belly rings with web belts. Like any tights/pantyhose, they take added time when you go to the bathroom to get all presentable again before you leave. That’s why I think these would be even better if they were thigh highs instead of pantyhose, but that’s just my personal opinion, I like to pull my skirts up in the bathroom instead of pulling everything down.

So I wore the new red vertical stripes to work last night. I had them on for about an hour before I left for work and they were already too tight on the thighs and one rolled down to a little above knee high so I got out my white sock garters and put them both a little above knee high and folded the black band over the garter so it would match.

I worked from 7-12:40 at the bar last night. Got lots of attention from the customers, mostly compliments and some just comments on how wild they were. They stayed just fine where they were supposed to with the sock garters. I pulled them up a little when I was sitting because they would bag a little at the ankles but it would have been just fine to leave them. Around midnight when the bar calmed down and I was able to sit down for a while they started to feel tight above the knee so I pulled them down to right below the knee for a few minutes and then pulled them back up and they were just fine.

I think had I bought them a few months back they would have been perfect without sock garters, but sometime in the past few months I got a little heavier and some of my older socks are too tight on my thighs as well, and my spiked sock garters are too tight where I used to wear them as well. But all of these work just fine closer to just above the knee, and that sexy view of skin above the socks and below the skirt is an added plus I’m sure for viewers.
