| July 31st, 2005 | Armwarmers as Legwarmers? |
Most of the time I’ve heard of people wearing legwarmers as armwarmers instead. But I decided to try it out the other way around since my grey and pink striped arm warmers are just too tight to wear comfortably on my arms. I figured wearing them on my ankles would stretch them out nicely, and they match my shirt almost exactly! Here’s the outfit:
It’s a pink and grey striped off the shoulder top that I got ages ago at DEB worn with a darker grey skirt ($6 from Boscovs) and my super great Splash heels. The armwarmers on the ankles were just the perfect touch to complete the look. Since they’re armwarmers, and tight ones at that, I had to wear them scrunched up at the ankles like slouch socks. They looked too tight and strange up to the knees. And after walking around at the mall for hours like that yesterday the tightness started to get to me and I took them off for a little when I got home. But when it was time to go out to the bar with friends I put them back on and by the end of the night I really didn’t notice them. Not sure if they stretched out like I wanted them to yet, but maybe after a wet stretch attempt or at least a couple more wearings on the ankles they should be loose enough to wear more comfortably as legwarmers OR armwarmers. | July 28th, 2005 | Grey Slouch Socks |
I’ve been wearing a lot of the slouch socks lately. In my most recent order I got grey, lime green, minty green, and black as well as some other styles. A few days before I got the order in I wore the lilac slouch socks to work with a matching outfit and as soon as the order came in I had to wear the new ones.
This outfit is a brown ribbed v-neck shirt with a blue/grey/brown plaid skirt and grey slouch socks. I wore it to school and then took pics outside on my back porch since it was so nice out. I’m happy that I can finally wear my slouch socks with my Converse Low Tops because I thought they were too thick before but I think the shoes are finally worn in enough that it works. The slouch socks are wonderful, I just can’t get enough. Besides the new pairs I just got, I also have them in Seafoam, Pink, Lilac, and white and everytime I check them out they seem to have new colors in so I’m sure I’ll get some more soon as well. They slouch very nice at the ankles but can also be worn to knee high which comes in handy when the A/C is up too high and it gets all goose-bumpy inside. |

| July 13th, 2005 | Lime Boys Socks |
Got a surprise pair of Lime Boy Socks in my most recent sock order!! I had thought of ordering them and was happily surprised to find them thrown in with my order! Wore them for the first time out today with my pink dip dyed skirt and a green beater that didn’t quite match exactly but didn’t look bad. Me and Ben went bowling but I didn’t really get any comments good or bad from anyone about them. I guess since I had them rolled down while we were bowling and only Ben and my family saw them un-rolled earlier. I really like them even though I am not real big on wearing mid-calves with shorts or skirts often cuz I think it’s kinda weird. They’re definately great for under pants though.

| July 13th, 2005 | Petticoat with Black Ruffle & Bows Anklets |
I got my first Petticoat recently from Sock Dreams but have yet to actually wear it out of the house but I did try it out with a dress I have for the pictures.
I think they look quite cute together but the petticoat itches my skin a bit so it’s gonna take some getting used to. That and I tend to knock things over on accident with it as I walk around my room.
I wore the outfit with some cute little black anklets with ruffles and bows and some new shoes from Hot Topic. This is one of those rare occasions where you can actually show off ankle socks which makes me so happy!
And here’s a close up so you can see the detail in the socks and shoes. The shoes are platform and have an ankle strap that’s pretty cool. They were on sale for like $8 which I why I picked them up. The socks are adorable and comfy made of the same material as a lot of the thigh highs that I have, that nylon type of material. |

| July 11th, 2005 | Turquoise OTK with Dots |
Sock outfit of the day: Turquoise top layered over a grey beater with grey shorts and turquoise otk socks with various colored dots on them.
These came from Target and were part of a present I got in the mail recently. I’ll have more pics of the rest of the stuff sometime soon. Finally had time to try everything on today and decided to wear these to work.
They stayed up pretty much, not so much over the knee but definately right below the knee. The dot design is also on the feet but you couldn’t see that with the shoes I was wearing. These are really comfy and the elastic never cuts the circulation out of your legs or anything like that. Unfortunately I can’t give you a Buy Now link on these ones since they were purchased on sale from Target. But if you have a target near you I think they were Xhiliration brand so you might be able to pick up a pair if you want them. Guess What?!! Kayla Marie has the exact same socks!! Check it out!! |
