I got these socks at Target last week in the clearance section. They had so much to choose from and I really wasn’t even supposed to be spending any money cuz I’m pretty broke right now. Who can resist cheap socks though? Not me obviously. I wore them with a shirt I got recently on Clearance from Delia’s (See at least I get the most of my money when I do shop too much sometimes.) and an older pair of Bubblegum Jeans. I wore them all day yesterday while I worked on editing entries on here and when I met up with an ex at the bar to catch up on old times. I even wore them most of the day today as well when I was just sitting around the house (well up until I took the pics a few minutes ago) because it’s pretty cold in here with all the snow we’ve had again lately and I didn’t really go anywhere.
Here you can see that they’re knee high. I actually folded down the top band because it was going on my knees and was kinda akward like that. They stay up really well though and quite comfortably so. I really like the thick stripes (for a change from my usuals) and they matched pretty nice with the shirt too. If you want to pick them up I believe they were Xhilaration brand and your local Target probably has them on Clearance right now too. Posted in Knee High/OTK, Stripes | 1 Comment »

| January 21st, 2006 | Orange Tights & Legwarmers |
I went to the mall with my mom today cuz she needed to get some secret santa gifts for her bowling Christmas party tonight (I know it’s the middle of January, they’re weird) After the mall where I didn’t have much luck (other than finally getting a refill on my Gap Heaven scent) we went to Target!! Oh how I love Target!! They had a bunch of stuff on clearance so I ended up getting quite a few things. I got 4 pairs of tights (3 solid Xhilaration Brand and one pair was a re-buy of the diamond argyles that got all run-up at the Halloween party at work and I had to toss), a pair of cute little brown Boo Boo (Yogi’s friend, the cartoon bear) argyle shorties, 2 pairs of rugby stripes, and a 2 pack of beige with sparkly fishnets knee highs.
Unfortunately I usually forget that tights aren’t One Size Fits All so when I got them home and went to try them on none of the tights fit except the re-buy. I was disappointed to say the least, especially since one pair was a large and really should have fit. So I decided since I can’t really return opened and tried on hosiery that I’d attempt to make them into footless tights instead. So I cut the toes off the oranges one first (cuz that’s the color I’d wear the least) and they seem to be just fine.
They’re still pretty snug, but it’s actually not uncomfortable. And they go down to a few inches above my ankle comfortably. I wore them with legwarmers though since I don’t ever want to go running around looking like I’m wearing leggings like my elementary school days, I’m far too thick to think that looks good now. I always wear my tights with legwarmers anyways. I’m holding off on butchering the other two pairs that didn’t fit till after I wash these and see how the bottoms hold up. I don’t want to go ruining them when I could just find someone to give them to if this little experiment doesn’t work out. Wish me luck… cuz I really need a larger assortment of tights colors. |

| January 20th, 2006 | New Favorite Sweater |
I finally got the sweater in that I ordered from Delia’s a while back. It had been back-ordered till mid-January but I’ve wanted it for so long I didn’t mind waiting. And now that it’s here I absolutely love it! Saw on the website that it went on sale again so I’m gonna be getting a few more in different colors cuz I love it that much.
It matches almost perfectly with my grey legwarmers that I got a while back from Walmart in a two pack with some thigh high socks. Now that I think of it those socks would probably look pretty cute too, I should pull them out to wear to work soon… Lately it’s been warm enough that I’ve gone without a jacket in favor of the precious sweater. I can’t wait till I can afford to order more!
I don’t know, there’s just something about both items that I just really like. These are by far my favorite legwarmers even though I think I mostly really wear them around the house. And I think my toes look really cute peeking out from under them. I forget what the brand was cuz this was so long ago when I got them, otherwise I’d probably go looking for more. Heck, I should stop in Walmart and do that anyways, I haven’t been in there in ages. |

| January 19th, 2006 | Footless Fishnet Tights & Legwarmers |
Today’s my friend Brandi’s 24th Birthday so we tried to go in to work early and decorate to surprise her but she ended up getting there before we were finished cuz she comes in so damn early! She was still happy about it and we made her a cake and lunch to share. Ended up hanging out there for a while and then heading home when my dad was ready to go. I plan on heading back before her shift is over so we can go out for the night.
We had planned on going to a club downtown originally but those plans fell through and she didn’t have a cute outfit to wear out. I tried to pick out something of mine that I knew she liked so she could borrow it but didn’t know what types of socks she would actually wear so I called her up and she said not to bother because we were just gonna go to a local bar and didn’t need to be all dressed up. So then I decided against wearing my cute little outfit since I’d be the only one and it’s supposed to be all about her for her birthday anyways.
The outfit was really cute though so why not share! The skirt is from Forever21 and I’ve been desperately trying to wear it since I got it but always end up changing out of it before I left the house. Partly because it’s so short and it’s so cold outside, and then of course since I would only be going somewhere local that doesn’t require being that dressed up and I’d only be drawing too much attention to myself which some of my friends aren’t as comfortable with as others. The top is one of my favorites, it’s grey (which somehow goes with the brownish color of the skirt) and has an adorable silver sparkly skull on the front. I probably wear it more often than most of my other shirts cuz it’s so damn cute. On the legs I added some warmth by wearing my Footless Fishnet Pantyhose and brown legwarmers (from Target). All of this with open toed shoes by Splash that I absolutely looooove to death, I wish I could find another pair or two like them so they’d never wear out and I’d never have to stop wearing them. They’re one of the few pairs of heels I can wear and actually be comfortable in. And it would have been the first time for me wearing the tights as well as the safety pin belt buckle had I actually worn it out. Maybe the next time I get to go to a club?? We’ll see…. |

| January 17th, 2006 | Blue Fencenets and Garter Dress |
I noticed that the Fishnet category here is looking a little bare so I figured I’d add these in. I was just playing around with one of my wigs that I got after Halloween this year. It’s blue and black and for some reason I just could never get it to look right like it does on the package. I actually wanted to return it but since I got it on sale after Halloween the return policy prohibited it so I just have to figure out something to do with it or donate it to Goodwill or something later.
The outfit is something I could never wear out in public since it’s more of a lingerie type thing. It’s the Black Satin Garter Dress with Royal Blue Fencenet Thigh Hi’s. The metal clasps on this garter dress are the best I’ve ever had. They’re quite easy to attach and they stay that way. I have the fencenets in several colors (royal blue, hot pink, red, & black) and just love them. They look great alone (and your toes can poke right through the holes) or over solid thigh highs for a different kind of look. My sister and I each wore the same skirt and different colored fencenets to the Christmas party at work last year and it was fun!
This look is more of a halloween type of thing for a boyfriend’s eyes only though because that garter dress is super short. When I first saw it at Sock Dreams I thought it was just a regular dress that happened to have garters attached so I was all about it. But then when it came in and half my ass was exposed when I tried it on I realized it wasn’t gonna be making an appearance on the streets anytime soon. But other than the fact it’s not for public display, it’s a really great piece. The garters are wonderful and the satin is really smooth and sexy. It’s such a cute little lingerie get up that the pictures really just don’t show you the full glory. |

| January 15th, 2006 | Tangerine OTK Tube Socks |
Last week at the mall I got two new sweaters from H&M. The first one was an almost mustardy yellow which is just about the nicest looking color on me, and the second was an orange that I got cuz it fit better and I really liked the style of the sweater, plus I barely have ANY orange in my wardrobe and I’m always trying to keep things fresh.
My good friend Cheddar, who is just about the only person I’ve been going out to bars with lately, just moved away to Florida early this morning so it’s pretty much stay in all the time or go out alone on weekends now. My dad was sitting around the house bored and my mom was at work so we decided to go visit her. I wore my new orange sweater with the Tangerine OTK Tubes and a denim skirt with grey and orange sneakers that I like never wear. It was a lot colder out than yesterday but the thickness of the socks made it almost bearable the short ammount of time I was actually out in the frigid air. I had actually ordered the Persimmon but they were sold out and subsituted the Tangerine. Wasn’t too bad of a match although the socks were a little brighter than the sweater, the persimmon probably would have been a better match, but these most definately didn’t look bad.
This is my second pair of OTK tubes and I really like them. They’re nice and thick and warm. My other pair is the top stripe red ones that I wore with my Christmas costume on an even colder day in December. Both are very cute, although a little snugger than other socks in the feet when worn with shoes. They stay up pretty well with only a little adjusting here and there when sitting and standing up repeatedly. The warmth really is the biggest plus with these. They’re perfect for wearing in the winter with boots and long skirts and stuff like that. Many styles don’t do a thing when a strong wind flies by but these are like warm little sweaters for your legs. Perfect for those like me who don’t want to be jeans and long sleeves (ew long sleeves) every day just because the temperatures dropped and there’s the occasional snow fall. |

| January 14th, 2006 | Brown Inklined |
I visit Sock Dreams at least once a day, usually more if I’m bored. I’m a big fan of the sock journal cuz I just love to read about different socks and see what other people are into and how things fit and such for them. Sometimes it just gives me an idea of something else I want to buy and other times it’s just interesting to see how other people wear their socks. And then of course I always check out the latest products before I leave to see what’s new and exciting in stock. Well when I saw that there were new colors in the Inklined’s I was exstatic because I had been meaning to order more of them for ages but didn’t know what colors to get. They didn’t even have pictures of the Walnut or Kelly Green but I just knew I had to have both and I rarely ever can order things without seeing them first.
The outfit is a tank top that I stole from my sister’s clothes because it matched the color so well, a long denim skirt and my brown converse sneakers with the Walnut Inklined Knee Highs and some brown beads.
It was a pretty nice day today, especially for like the middle of January in Pennsylvania and there’s no snow. In fact I even washed my car outside earlier although the water was pretty freezing the weather was pretty pleasant except when the wind would blow while I was spraying. I just love when I get the opportunity to still wear skirts without freezing to death. Wore the outfit to work and then out to the bar for a couple drinks afterwards. Got some compliments from the sock-lovers at work and then at the other bar the owner said “Nice Socks, What is this your Cleveland Browns Cheerleader outfit?” which of course it’s not (Boo Browns!) and when I was leaving to go home some guys by the door were asking if I was going to go get my Santa’s Helper outfit. The ways people remember you… All in all the socks are great! They stay above the knee although they do tend to roll down a little. They’re comfy and they’re super cute. And this Walnut color just happens to be one of the colors that looks really nice on me. I just can’t seem to get enough brown lately! |
