March 26th, 2006 The Bomb!

These SourPuss Armwarmers and Matching Socks are the bomb and a half!! You know how much I like to match and black and white goes with just about anything.

Bombs!

When I saw the Armwarmers I just HAD to have them, unfortunately I already made an order earlier in the day so I felt like an ass making another one with just one thing on it. Luckily I was able to contact them and they caught it before sending out two seperate packages so all was well.

Bombs!

The rest of the outfit is a striped shirt from Gadzooks and pink boyshort undies from Forever 21 (they’re actually both the same company now). I didn’t wear this out of the house or anything, just wanted to take some cute pics. When I did wear the socks and arm warmers out they were with a double pink striped shirt and black pants but that was weeks ago when I first got them and didn’t have a chance to take any pics. (I’m really behind as far as all the new stuff I’ve gotten lately)

The socks are labeled as Thigh Highs by Sourpuss but Sock Dreams and I both agree that they’re much more like OTK’s if that. They pretty much cover my big fat knee caps but would much rather reside just below them. The armwarmers are really comfy too. I wear them all the way to my elbows and scrunch them down and back up again through out the day. The whole thing is super cute and I’m glad I ended up with the whole set. You’ll want them too, I never knew little pink bombs could BE so irresistable!!

March 26th, 2006 Double Greens for the St Patty’s Day Party

Finally got some pictures of the outfit I wore to the St Patrick’s Day party last Saturday night. The socks are Sock Dreams’ Double Greens Green Knees. I picked them up specially for St Patty’s Day although I didn’t have an outfit in mind to wear them with.

Double Greens

The pics were taken today because I didn’t take them when I was out and ended up being out late that night and then everything was in the wash. The socks are a little smaller than they were the first day but they fit better now so it’s not a bad thing. I wore them that night with my simple white sock garters so they would stay up. Without them they go to the knees and like to roll down a little but only get a little baggy in the legs and never slide all the way down to the ankles. They didn’t exactly match the top I decided to wear with them but it wasn’t bad either.

Double Greens

The top was on sale for like $6 at Gadzooks. I ended up breaking it the first day I tried to wear it but I sewed the string back on and it was good as new. The skirt is a long black peasant skirt that goes down to my midcalves so I’m warmer cuz there’s no exposed skin but you can also see a peak of my cool socks. That way it didn’t really matter that my top and socks weren’t even close to being the same colors. Got lots of compliments on the outfit at the party and just my style in general when we went to the other bar.

March 18th, 2006 St Patrick’s Inklined

ANOTHER St. Patrick’s Day sock outfit this year!! After work at Unique I had a two hour break before I had to be at work at the bar so I had just enough time to change my clothes, eat, and come online for a little before heading out. Outfit #2 is a green Mr. Vinyl ringer tee, black pleated skirt, Kelly Green Inklineds, and my black Converse lowtops with green star laces. I also wore some old green beads and my green star cluster earrings.

Kelly Green Inklined

Got some compliments at the bar and it was a little busier than usual so that was nice. By the end of the night one of my favorite customers came in and she said she knew I’d be dressed up in some sort of sock outfit and had a surprise for me. She gave me a little green garter belt with Miller Light clovers on it so I put it on right away. She said she wished she had two to give me but I thought one was cute enough and it was a nice surprise!

Kelly Green Inklined & garter belt

The socks reached over my knees but fell down onto my knee caps quite often so I just kept pulling them up. Other than that they stayed up nice and high. The vertical stripes are slimming to the legs and I just think they’re really cute. Just gotta figure out what other colors I need before I can order more!!

March 17th, 2006 Green & Black Full Striped Skater Socks

I’ve been giving suggestions to the people at Skater Socks for some time now and when they came out with these Full Striped Tube Socks they sent me one of each color to try!

Green & Black

Let me tell you, these new tubes are better than ever!! The colors are gorgeous and bright and the material is even thicker and softer than before. They’re 23 inches where as the others that I have are 22 inches but these actually go up a little shorter. I think it’s something with how the top sections of the “normal” skater socks are different than these full striped ones.

Green & Black

My favorite color combo is the gold and royal blue but I’ve only worn those to sleep so far. This pair is the Green and Black which I wore to work under black pants because they go pretty well with my green work shirt and I wanted to wear them for St. Patrick’s Day but already had two other pairs of socks picked out for my other job and the party the following day. It worked out quite nicely, especially for testing the comfort since I’m on my feet all day at the pizza shop. They stayed up right where I put them the whole day and were extra cushy in my shoes. I give them rave reviews and you should definately pick them up if you like tubes and any of the color combos. These are some high quality socks right here!! I

March 15th, 2006 Pink Legwarmers

My pink outfit

These Pink Chenile Legwarmers are wonderful!! They’ve been getting rave reviews from the sock girls and commenters in the Sock Journal and I just had to try them out. Plus I didn’t already have a pair of pink legwarmers and pink is a semi-common color in my wardrobe.

Close up Legwarmers and Toes

I really like them a lot, I’ve even slept in them! They’re super warm and stay up quite nicely and look just as cute scrunched down. They can also be worn as arm warmers if you prefer. The softness is really the best part, they just feel so nice against your skin!!

March 14th, 2006 Double Greys M Stripes

I got these M Stripes in Double Greys in a recent sock order but didn’t get to wear them till last night at work. I’m a big fan of the grey’s in everything so I had to pick them up!

The Outfit

The rest of the outfit was grey as well, my grey layered skirt and batman beater. The socks are quite a bit longer than the Pink/Green/Orange/Purple Knees lines, they reached almost all the way up my thighs but not very comfortably so. Took some tugging and pulling to get them up around my 21 inch thighs and they prefered to roll down lower than that.

Close Up Socks

That’s a comparison of how high they CAN go and where I wore them. Usually I fold them over instead of rolling them, but these seemed to look better rolled down because of the stripes. They still slid down a bit and got a little baggy in the legs but I actually thought it was kinda cute. I pull them up all the time out of habit though. Sock Garters are probably a good idea if you like your socks to stay put the whole time you’re wearing them. I probably would have worn some if I had the spikes in grey but I only have the black. Regular garters would work too if your thighs are a little thinner and you like to wear them all the way up. They’d probably look really cute layered with some slouch socks or O Basics too but I wasn’t in the mood for trying that out at the time.

March 13th, 2006 O Chevrons vs Inklined

Neon Yellow Chevrons and Kelly Green Inklineds

In this picture I have my Kelly Green InkLined’s side by side with my Neon Yellow O Chevrons with Black Detail.

I’ve been into the Inklined’s from the beginning, with my first pair being the Cookies and Cream when they were first introduced at Sock Dreams. Since then I had wanted more but wasn’t sure what colors to get. With a more recent batch I decided on Kelly Green and Walnut before even seeing the colors in pictures. The O Chevrons were a different story for me. I never really saw the appeal. The design didn’t really catch my eye and I didn’t understand why everyone was always raving about them. I just didn’t like them all that much until I saw this post in the Sock Journal featuring the Neon Yellow and comparing them to a highlighter. I just thought they were so cute and added them to my wishlist. Just finally got them months later in a recent order but haven’t worn them out of the house yet.

So which is better??

Neon Yellow Chevrons and Kelly Green Inklineds

There’s no definate answer to this question but I can give you my best answer by comparing them side by side! The Inklined’s seemed to be snugger this time around, and snugger than the O Chevrons as well. In a weird way though. I think it’s something with the way they’re stitched to make the vertical lines that makes them hug my legs tighter than the Chevrons. But oddly enough I like it better like that. Also when it comes to stretch they both seem to go the same length up my legs. The Chevrons feel tighter at the tops but the Inklineds seem to roll down a little right away instead of just digging in. Either pair will not stay there for long without slipping down a little. They never do fall all the way down to the ankles though, and I think my knees may be on the bulkier side which probably has something to do with it.

The Inklineds seem to make my legs look slimmer (vertical lines do that, right?) and you can’t really tell that they’re squeezing a little tighter than the Chevrons. I’m not sure if the difference in color has anything to do with it as well. The inklineds are more of a pain to put on because I like to have the lines going straight up my legs and not at an angle and the Chevrons design doesn’t take as much effort as far as that goes.

I can definately find more colors in the Inklined’s that I like than in the OChevrons, but there seem to be many more options in Chevrons because they come in so many colors in both white and black detail. I think I mostly prefer the black detail over the white as far as that goes. And when it’s all said and done, the Inklined’s just seem to be more my style and therefore I like them better.

But the real answer to the question is up to you… Many will probably disagree with my pick since I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews on the Chevrons and they seem to be the most popular style on the site… but in the end all that matters is what YOU like and what goes better with your body and wardrobe. So pick up a few of each and make up your own mind about them!! :)
