| December 19th, 2007 | Special Surprises are always awesome too! |
ALSO, as quite the surprise with my gift card order from Sock Dreams, they threw in the lovely button up leg warmers that I had wanted so badly but were (for the second time) Out of Stock when I went to order them. The thing that surprised me the most (other than the fact that they’re finally mine!!) was that they were actually a lot darker than I had expected. From the pictures they had appeared a much lighter blue, like a light jeans kind of color, but in actuality they’re more of a medium blue jeans kind of color. Not that I’m disappointed at all, especially since I have a shirt in nearly an identical blue to wear them with!! So when I actually wore these I wore them with the shirt and under some jeans because it was cold. But for pictures I wore them over light blue tights (which are more like the color I expected the leg warmers to be) and with a brown skirt (which I was excited about cuz I can barely find anything to wear that looks right with that skirt) and the shirt. So without further ado, here they are!!
The shirt is from Wet Seal and says “Of Course I’m in Love With You Darling” in brown with certain letters in white so that if you read only the white it says “I’m lying”. The skirt is from Forever 21 with built in undies, I got them both a while back tho so they’re probably not still in stores right now. And here’s a close up of the tights and leg warmers worn with my clear heels.
The buttons are hard marble-like plastic and actually do button and un-button, they’re not just cute but functional. Although I don’t really know when you’d need them to be unbuttoned, but I guess it could come in handy if you wanted to put them on without taking your shoes off or something along those lines. They stayed up pretty well too, despite how it may look, I actually pull leg warmers down over my heels for pictures. Posted in Arm/Legwarmers, Sock Dreams, Wish List Purchases | 1 Comment »

| December 19th, 2007 | 35 inch Skater Socks are love <3!! |
This is a pair of Skater Socks that I’m actually really excited about! They’re 35 inches in Black and Bubblegum Pink!! (item 35-1 from this page if you’re interested.) They’re my first TRULY over the knee skater socks! When I first got them I was surprised at how much longer they seemed just holding them up with all the rest of the new pairs, but I hadn’t actually WORN them till last week (under some pants unfortunately) and then again yesterday to take pictures. They’re AWESOME!! And they definitely need to come out with a bunch more combos cuz I’m sure they’re gonna be a huge hit!
I’m actually wearing them in this picture with a pair of heels that I still can’t wear normal since the accident but they do look really cute together tho. And you can see how the entire striped section lands completely over the top of my knee caps in my mid-thigh area. In fact, with the skirt I wore for the pictures, they were actually long enough to be covered up and almost look like tights when I’m standing, but I didn’t get any standing pictures in the outfit.
The rest of the outfit was purchased ages ago and included my black pleated skirt from Forever 21 (with built in shorts) and a shirt from Delia’s that I used to always “borrow” from my sister till she finally gave it to me the last time she was home. The colors went together quite well tho, much better than what I wore them with all hidden up last week. |

| December 19th, 2007 | Yellow and Gold Super Stripes!! |
I recently got my first ever Sock Dreams E-Gift Card for $50 and ordered a ton of stuff with it. (Thanks again Ray!) I ended up wearing 3 of the new things the first weekend but was at a friends house at the time so I didn’t get any pics but I finally wore the Super Stripes yesterday and here they are:
When I tried them on originally they were HUGE, even my dad was like “What do those go up to your neck?” and they were really loose. So I ended up washing them before actually wearing them (which I rarely ever do). I think I even washed them in Warm Water Cool Rinse instead of Cold and Cold like I normally wash everything. And I threw them in the dryer on Low as I dry everything else. They did shrink up a bit, but that was totally the idea. I didn’t exactly know what to wear them with at the time so I just stuck with the socks and a Mustard colored sweater top that matched pretty perfectly with the gold in the stripes.
But I ended up throwing on a long black peasanty skirt and wearing it out like that when I helped move a fish tank for my friend and then hung out with the boy for a few hours. They stayed up pretty well around the house when I had them pulled ALL THE WAY up, but felt a little tight there so I let them fall around my knees and cuffed them a little which is how I wore them the rest of the night. |
